im just curious after reading reviews on tweaktown and here on rwlab, the data fill testing seems to be quite different. JBOD testing here on rwlab reached a high of 70k score while 25% of the drive is filled where as tweaktown is much lower, the same goes for raid0, 100k score compared to 60k ish. I do understand test machine are different, motherboard and cpu, but IRST driver and Orom should be similar. is there a lot of different tweaks between reviews on these two sites? ie power tweaks, smaller stripes etc, or does different motherboard and raid card really play a significant role here?

Jon is on a much faster board. At TT I'm sponsored to use the board I'm running. That board is about to come out and my new MSI is about to go in. The GBT board is really good when it comes to stability but the SATA seems slower. My numbers on the MSI board are inline with Jon's.

ah thanks for explaining, so mobo is a important factor.

With this drive it is. It's mainly the OROM on the GBT board. Jon is using the new 11 Series OROM and I'm using a much older one.

I tried to load the new OROM but the board doesn't really like it. GBT will have an update soon though.

if you're using old OROM that means trim isnt working right? that would explain HDT benchmark in raid 0 showing low write performance, usually one would think with empty drive it'd be near 1 gbps but it's only around 600 mbps

Write caching needs to be turned on to score like I do. Chris was testing without it on because some people want to see it that way.

thats an amazing value considering write cache was turned off.. what hit me most was still the fill data test though. whenever I ran HD Tune test with my SSD, the blank storage space gets a good 400mb/s read where as it's only 250-300mb/s on flash that has file stored, which is why made me go for sandforce based drives, currently waiting for the latest firmware!

I will be grabbing two of these SLC drive from My digital discount very soon, if only im not so short on money.. tuition fee
