Diamond Radeon HD 7870GHz Edition Review

The AMD Radeon HD 7870GHz Edition graphics card is designed to push a massive amount of pixels at 1080p and do so with gusto. In fact this graphics card has the ability easily power through next gen games such as Sleeping Dogs, Max Payne 3 and Borderlands 2 at 1080p with all the eye candy enabled and still achieve an average frame rate above 30FPS. Of course it isn’t going to run games at the same level as the Nvidia GTX 680, or AMD Radeon HD 7970, but it also comes with a more affordable price tag, making it more accessible to a wider range of gamers.

very nice article. it still amazes me how some of these lower end later released card manage to do better in temperature and power consumption than first batch cards like 7970 and 680, kind of reminds me of how intel releases their CPU. the load temperature is really amazing, AMD done a great job for sure with their graphics card. Their competitive price range against nvidia could have been better since their GPU usually lose in about 5-10% in performance but overall is very acceptable, I ain't one of those paying additional 400-600 dollars for just 10% improvement. (although I might for SSD LOL)

card design looks nice, not too bulky either although I'm not so sure in a quad crossfire platform/mobo though. with a new driver released, people should give AMD more chance

btw just a question, does RWLab do CPU reviews?

no need to rush! sorry for keep asking these requests. I'm a fan for both AMD and Nvidia's graphics but can't say the same for cpu lol..
intel >> AMD but it'll take awhile for intel's graphics to be anywhere near AMD's level =D

No need to appologize, questions are what this forum is for. While it wasnt a popular decision at the time the acquisition of ATI was the smartest thing AMD has done, they no longer compete with Intel in the high performance CPU's but their APUs are stunning.

I'm impressed by how far they've taken the 7000 line over the past few months.
